DPWH, PGB conduct site inspection for Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge

Last Friday, September 23, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Senior Undersecretary Emil Sadain and Bataan Governor Joet Garcia conducted a site inspection in the ongoing hole boring being done by the Trinity Surveyor vessel in the South Channel of the Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge (BCIB) which needs the deepest depth to hold a 900-meter tower, near Cavite. The 4-lane bridge is 32 kilometers long.

To date, about 55% of the geotechnical investigation survey has been accomplished and its detailed engineering design is set to finish in the first quarter of 2023. In his presentation, Technical Director for the Bridge Line of Business at T.Y. Lin International Marwan Nader, discussed the drilling process timeline.

“Sinasabi ni Sec. Emil, sa second phase nitong development na ito, ang gusto nya po, mula sa tulay, meron po tayong panibagong daan dire-diretso sa SCTEX nang sa ganon magkaroon talaga ng North to South, South to North na daan na tuluy-tuloy, walang traffic, para mas mabilis yung travel ng ating mga pasahero at syempre, ng mga goods and products sa ating mega region,”

Governor Joet Garcia said during the groundbreaking of housing projects in Bataan today, September 24.

From the past administration’s #BuildBuildBuild program, it is seen to be completed in the current administration’s #BuildBetterMore as it is estimated to be finished within five and a half years.

Also joining the site visit were 3rd District Congresswoman Gila Garcia, Partylist Representative Jett Nisay, Project Director Sharif Madsmo H. Hasim, Project Manager Teresita V. Bauzon, Mariveles Mayor Ace Jello Concepcion, supervisors and staff of TY Lin International, Pyunghwa Engineering Consultants, Renardet, Philippines’ DCCD Engineering Corporation and Provincial Government of Bataan.

Said bridge is seen to alleviate traffic congestion in Metro Manila and provide opportunities in Regions 3 and 4A which are currently positioning as competitive investment destinations in the country.
